Trouble continues at it rains heavily

昨日の夜は一連の抗議行動が始まって以来、一番酷かった。血を流して倒れている人の映像がニュースに映されて、他の島でも警察署や裁判所が放火された。刑務所でも囚人が逃げてスピードボートで首都に向かっているなんて怖い噂も出回る程。

私は昨日の昼前に会議で職場に行ったけど、数時間後にまた自宅待機の勧告。私は緊急の仕事はないので、引き続き今日も家です。

今日は朝からこの国の状況を象徴するような激しい雨。スピーカーから流れてくるお祈りも物悲しく聞こえる。

Trouble in the Paradise

The country made it to the front page of the BBC World news. Have you headr about the big news?? Due to political instability and possible security risks, today and tomorrow we have to stay (work from) home. The not so well known side of this sunny vacation destination country may be a bit more recognized now. So no more making fun of me that I am "working" in this country (rather than vacationing!).

I may have to cancel a mission and some planned events, which I have to say is very disappointing. Amidst the instability and uncertainty the life goes and the work has to be continued. Everything cannot come to a complete halt because of this though we need to make sure that security of staff is not compromised. There would be lots of implication for work ahead.
