２泊３日で東の郡まで出張に行ってきました。主な目的は地元の警察官へのGBVのトレーニングのモニタリングです。パートナーのNGOと本部からきている警察の偉い人（！）の二人がトレーナー。このハイランクな警察の方というのが、とっても男前な女性（失礼？？）で、さながら現地版の宝塚の男役みたいな感じ。髪が短くて、きりってしていて、立ち姿はもちろんどこまでも直立不動！それでもって、とても爽やかでよく気の付く親切な女性なのです。こんな人がこの国にいたのか！と感心してしまった。
３日間のワークショップと地元の関係者を集めてのInteraction Programも成功に終わり、うちの機関の代表と言うか担当者として参加した私は、地元の警察署長さんやその他のお偉方に混ざりひな壇に座り、何度も言いにくそうに私の名前を出して感謝して頂き、プレゼントまでもらってしまった。とても満足して帰路についたのでした。飛行機が３時間以上遅れたけどね、帰りに。I guess that just a minor detail now. この郡は女性シェルターもあり、サポートシステムがある程度機能しているなと感じた。
I am back from a three day mission to one of districts in the far west region. The main objective this time was to monitor a training session to local police on gender based violence. A partner NGO as well as a high ranking police officer from the HQ (in the capital city) were the facilitators. I was so impressed with this police officer, who is one of a few high ranking female commanders in the police force. She is so cool, full of confidence in a positive way, assertive yet very kind and so smart and committed. I have never met such woman in this country and I really admire her to be this way in this very conservative society. The training and the interaction program on the last day went all successfully and I was quite happy. It will be good to increase the engagement in this area next year (if I am still here then!!).
