NYC Life

I have been enjoying the life in NYC, but I feel a bit culture shock from time to time.

I still haven't got used to all one way streets. I have to check both way and don't trust the traffic lights (coming from the place where no functioning traffic lights)

Amazed by so many good looking and tiny dogs, most of them much better coiffed than me... and so many pet related shops

Every block has at least one nail salon, drug store, Chase bank and dry cleaner. Why do we need so many of same stores??

I am just extremely impressed by how convenient everything is. I have a hugh grocery store (that I just absolutely admire), drug store, yes of course, a store that sells kitchen and bed related items, Japanese grocery store all in less than 5 minutes walk from my apartment. How crazy is this? I also found a nice French patisserie, so my dream of eating as many pains au chocolat and croissants (it was part of my going to study French in Paris plan, remember?) is partially came true, though I realized that I should watch what I eat with so many temptations at least until I find a yoga studio.

I made more progress and now have an american bank account (yeah! and I can also apply for a credit card!) and a mobile phone.
